Organization and Productivity Project Officer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensuring project team adheres to provided timelines and deliverables
  • Ensuring documentation is maintained throughout the length of the project
  • Communicating plans, actions, risks, and issues with key stakeholders
  • Solving any issues that may arise during the project
  • Managing and building relationships with multiple teams
  • Assisting the Project Manager with administrative functions and processes
  • Managing day-to-day activities for the Project Management team
  • Analyzing project data and producing progress reports

  • Knowledge of community initiatives, grassroots groups and events in the GTA
  • A police check will be required

Agricultural Intern

This position is under our SCAN’s Youth Entrepreneurship Pathway and Job Creation Project and Sustainability on the Farm program, which is carried out in partnership with Akachi Farms at 9550 Pine Valley Dr, Woodbridge, ON L4L 2V5. Akachi Farms is a small business, organic farm with its head office in Mississauga, Ontario.  In this position we will be under skill acquisition, livelihood and Educational support. 

Intern will assist in all areas of the farm, except for the animals and will participate in our workshops.  The intern will not be allowed to feed the animals without the farmer’s permission. The intern will work in fields and orchards. S/he will plant, weed, and harvest. There will be little use of heavy duty tools. Mostly shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and other non heavy duty tools will be used. The Intern will work 7 hours a day, with 30mins lunch break and a 15 minute break every 2 hours.

Expectations & Requirements

  • Arriving on time (Attendance)
  • Clocking in once you start, not when you are getting ready, and clocking out on
  • time.
  • Organized return of tools to their spots.
  • Concentration
  • Finishing the given number of tasks per day, accurate fulfillment of the tasks.
  • Ability to do physical jobs such as, pushing a wheelbarrow, digging, planting,, weeding, carrying tools and totes.
  • Intern must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs

Sustainability/Digital Transformation Analyst

Primary Role

  1. Assist in the organization and delivery of environmental workshops under our “Sustainability in your Farm” program at our partner location – Akachi Farms
  2. Assist in the organization and delivery of Climate Change Webinars to our network
  3. Research and identify grant funding opportunities in the sustainability sector
  4. Work with the fundraising team to complete grant applications and proposals in the sustainability/environmental sector.
  5. Develop awareness and elevate SCAN’s Brand for the sustainability/environmental programs

Secondary Role

  1. Assist in aligning organization’s business strategy with a digital strategy
  2. Develop a transformative road map along with a data management strategy
  3. Align our financial and digital transformation goals while identifying key partnerships and tools to finance a digital transformation program
  4. Integrate our sales and marketing strategies into a digital transformative journey leveraging technology to enhance customer management
  5. Align our legal structure with our digital transformation program
  6. Develop our digital architecture

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • University degree in the Environment / Sustainability sector
  • Good communication, writing ability, 
  • Social media marketing experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Tech-savvy
  • A problem solver
  • Good interpersonal skills

Community Development Worker

Responsiblities

  • Communications Planning and Implementation: Contribute to developing and executing a communications strategy and implementation plan for SCAN’s Climate Change Action portfolio. This includes the branding, positioning and promotion of SCAN’s Climate Change Action programs; support the creation and delivery of social media and digital marketing campaigns and internal reporting and assist with planning and facilitation for successful event implementation.
  • Marketing Content and Materials Creation: Support the design and development of communications content to capture black and visible minorities experiences and actions to share with a broad audience. He/She will develop communication materials for print, web, social media and digital marketing to showcase and promote the Climate Change Action programs. ·
  • Recruitment Planning and Implementation: Contribute to the development and execution of a recruitment strategy and implementation plan for the Climate Change Action portfolio; conduct targeted promotional activities and relationship development with relevant stakeholders; support youth recruitment and onboarding. ·
  • Business Development: Support the growth of the SCAN’s Climate Change Action funding portfolio and granting options; support business development planning and processes including new partnership acquisition, portfolio expansion and proposal development.

Other Administrative tasks as required.

Grant Adminstrative Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant funding opportunities
  • Work with the fundraising team to complete grant applications and proposals
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate with various target audiences and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the fundraising and leadership team to produce effective strategies in delivering and meeting income targets across a range of revenue streams
  • Develop new and creative fundraising activities including but not limited to organizing events, recruitment of individual and corporate sponsors, researching and writing grants
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current initiatives and programmes while developing and delivering new initiatives that build on their successes

Minimum  Requirements

  • Strong Research Ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required ·
  • Experience with sourcing opportunities, cold-calling, contact development, and business relationship management
  • Have a background in Sustainability
  • Detail oriented, adaptable, organized, and demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks ·
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, email marketing, and CRM tools
