Climate Action Awareness Campaign
CLIMATE ACTION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
We are running a campaign on Social media from March 1 – 14, 2023. It will be a 14-day social media event on CLIMATE CHANGE – ADAPTATION AND MITIGATION.
The purpose is to help raise awareness of climate change challenges and their solutions in Canada, especially in Black, Indigenous and other racialized communities. The campaign will be a paid promotion on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn for 14 days.
This campaign also supports Bill C-226 ( National Strategy to address Environmental Racism) and would like to see it passed. The bill passed first reading in February 2020 and has been reinstated for consideration. Second Reading of the bill took place March 22, 2021. The bill was officially reported in the House of Commons on November 2022.

According to the Chair of the Black Canadian Caucus of Black Parliamentarians and other MPs, “this bill is commendable as it aims to address racial discrimination in respect of environmental policy-making”. More information about the bill can be found at the following links:
